Ringing in the New Year

What's your New Year's resolution? Haven't thought about it much. Or maybe you've thought about it way too much. Whatever the case is it's a hard decision and even harder to keep.

Many people get caught up on the "New Year, New Me" idea of the New Year. But when it all comes down to it how likely are you actually to keep your New Year's Resolution?
I personally never remember to make a New Year's resolution because I'm either too busy or can't think of one. However, every year as my friends and family members commit to resolutions I wonder how many actually stick with them.
Based off of last year (2017) statistics from Statistic Brain showed that only 58.4% of people who made resolutions stuck with it past one month. Then only 44.8% lasted past six months. So, less than half of the people who made resolutions didn't even last half of the year. That doesn't seem too bad, but what I wonder is 'how do you expect to reach yours goals if you quit half way through?'. Make your resolutions more reasonable.
The top New Year's resolution last year was..you probably guessed it...weight loss/healthy eating. Then second being life/self improvements. These aren't very easy resolutions. You need to make a schedule and stay consistent. My dad's goal has been weight loss for a while and with keeping a consistent schedule every week he's been able to achieve it. Yes, there has been set backs when he gets caught at work and can't workout. However, he still makes it a point to work harder the next time he goes in order to reach his goal.
That is the key with New Year's Resolutions and basically any goal. First makes it reasonable and achievable. Then keep a consistent schedule and stay motivated. If you are motivated you can achieve anything.
